Guidance for Visitors

A-Z of Facilities

Accessibility:  We have a Blue badge Car Park.  Accessible toilets are available and are dotted around the showground, please see the Show Map

Baby Changing Facilities:  We have a dedicated Mother and Baby unit near the Food court area 

Bus Service:  A  Shuttle Bus service operates between Cowbridge High Street and the Showground on Show Day.  The last bus LEAVES the Show at 6:00pm.

Car Parking:  We have FREE on site car parking.  

Cash:  We do provide wifi for our traders but the signal can be intermittent on a green field site. Please bring cash!

Catering:  Food Court, catering units, and Bars are located around the Showground or you are welcome to bring your own picnic too!  

Dogs:  We hold a Companion Dog Show with entries taken on the day from 10.30am with judging starting at 11:00am.

All dogs are welcome on the Showground but must be controlled on fixed short leads only.  They are not allowed in the Home Produce or Members’ marquees and the Livestock area.

Emergency:  Please contact the nearest Steward who will arrange assistance.

First Aid:  Acute Medics have a permanent station facing the Show Jumping rings and near the Main Entrance.

Hand Washing:  It is important to maintain good hand hygiene whilst at the event. Always wash your hands before eating and after touching animals, and avoid touching your face, handles and fences whenever possible. If there are issues with sanitiser points or hand washing facilities, please inform a steward

Information:  Available from the Main Entrance and the Secretary’s Tent.

Lost Children/Vulnerable Adults:  Please seek help from the nearest steward and report to the Secretary’s Tent.

Membership:  Membership of the Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Society is available to purchase online at www.valeofglamorganshow.co.uk

Opening Hours:  Open for Exhibitors & Traders from 6:00am. Open to the Public: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Smoking:  Smoking is prohibited in any enclosed or partially enclosed public area.

Tickets:  Advance tickets can be purchased via the website at www.valeofglamorganshow.co.uk

Toilets:  Toilets are situated around the Showground.  Please see the Show Map.

Water:  Drinking Water points are freely available around the showground.  Water is tested prior to the show and is suitable for drinking.

Visitors’ Code of Conduct

The Vale of Glamorgan Agricultural Society looks forward to welcoming you to the show In line with general government guidance on the admission of visitors to the site, this Code of Conduct acts to principally guide and advise you of the protocols in place during the event. The organisers (VGAS) have put in place a range of procedures, to ensure the safety of all visitors who attend the event. However, it is vitally important that everyone plays their part in making the event safe and enjoyable and we need your continued support and cooperation to achieve this. Visitors are therefore kindly reminded of the requirement to adhere to this Code of Conduct, and follow all safety requirements, to assist staff and stewards, and to help protect you and your fellow visitors.

  • Visitors must comply with the Society’s ticket terms & conditions. These will be outlined in full on the Show web site.
  • Plan your journey in advance and arrive at the Showground in plenty of time. Remember to travel safely and keep up to date with guidance on safe travel, car sharing, and public transport.
  • When you are at the event follow all information, direction signage and comply with any instructions or guidance given by staff and stewards, or over the PA system. In the event of an emergency, this will help you get to where you need to be in the safest and most effective way.
  • Please note that cash and card payments can be made at the main entrance gate. To note, the preference for admission is e-tickets as this will ensure a quicker admission into the event.
  • Our stewards and security teams will be helping to keep you safe. If you have any concerns about areas of crowding or other safety issues, please inform one of the stewards.
  • Smoking and vaping are not allowed in any enclosed or partially enclosed public area, this includes in livestock buildings.
  • Come prepared for changing or extreme weather, please check the weather forecast and bring  suitable rain attire, warm clothing or hats/sunscreen/water bottles, so you can continue to enjoy the event in all weathers.
  • When using toilet facilities, please be patient and considerate towards other users, and wait your turn to avoid toilet areas becoming crowded.
  • It is important to maintain good hand hygiene whilst at the event. Always wash your hands before eating and after touching animals, and avoid touching your face, handles and fences whenever possible. If there are issues with sanitiser points or hand washing facilities, please inform a member of staff.
  • If you are in a crowded space or indoors, please keep a respectful distance between yourselves and other visitors.
  • There will be continual media and marketing coverage within the event meaning that photographs will be taken that may encompass the public. If you or an individual within your group wish NOT to be photographed or filmed, please contact the VGAS  at vale.show@outlook.com
  • If you are attending the Show with other members of your family or friends, please make sure they have read and understood these guidelines.
  • Bag searches may be undertaken and refusal to comply will result in no entry.
  • The Society reserves the right to exclude any visitor that fails to comply with the Code of Conduct or displays anti-social behaviour.
  • The Society operates a no drug zone and therefore any person in possession of drugs will not be allowed on site.
